EVENTS AT ALL SAINTS’

Stations of the Cross at Marian Valley
Join us on Tuesday of Holy Week, April 15th at 11am as we re-tell the story of Jesus’ last journey to the cross.
Marian Valley is a beautiful pilgrimage and retreat centre in the Scenic Rim. About an hours drive south of the city, the extensive gardens include Stations of the Cross. The short service will be led by Father Duncan and we will go on to Canungra for lunch. If you need transport, please speak to Fr Duncan or Belen.

Lent Study Group - Decoding Scripture
Have you ever wondered how a sermon, homily or presentation on the bible is constructed? How do priests and theologians know what texts actually mean? Why are there so many different opinions on some of the texts? How do priests and theologians deal with the “difficult” texts that discuss controversial issues?
This year, during Lent, we will be developing our understanding of the skills used by theologians when they approach scripture. Together, we will explore techniques used to decode the bible, interpret it and communicate it to a variety of audiences. The aim of the course is to help you develop your own biblical decoding skills as you journey with our sacred texts.
Meetings will take place in the Parish Centre on Friday afternoons at 1.30pm, but will also be streamed on line. For online access information please email frduncan@allsaintsbrisbane.com
The first session will be on Friday 7th March.
