Queensland Academy of Young Singers launches in style…
On 2nd November, the Queensland Academy of Young Singers, a not-for-profit organisation, was launched at All Saints’ Wickham Terrace.
QUAYS, as it will be known, exists to grow and promote singing in schools and the next generation of choral musicians. It aims to nurture an understanding of the role of singing in sacred liturgy, and the contribution music makes to Anglican faith communities. The parish of All Saints’ has invested to nurture and support growth and talent amongst young people who might otherwise not get access to the professional quality and standards of musicianship and singing that mark the parish out as one of the few employers of paid professional choristers in Australia.
